New Year, New Challenges

By January 13, 2013 , , , , ,

We're two weeks into 2013 and it's already been eventful as far as starting on personal goals and challenges. As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm training for the Empire State Building Run-Up.  What I hadn't mentioned was the self-imposed shopping ban that I started at the beginning of the year. Last year, I had found myself constantly shopping and buying things I didn't need. In a tiny New York apartment, that becomes a problem really quickly. And when your husband ends up having to make do with barely half a closet out of the 2 we have in our home, it's a sad case of affairs. I knew I had to stop - for the sake of my wallet and to learn some self-control. Then I saw Tanvi's blog post about her shopping ban and decided to join in on this challenge and extend the shopping ban until the end of February. With other bloggers participating, motivating, and supporting each other, I hope this 2 month journey will be made easier.

Lucky for her, Shruti is a much more careful and thoughtful shopper so no shopping ban is needed for her (God bless her non-shopaholic soul). However, sister dear is doing a challenge of her own - the Doonya Challenge. We've written about Doonya Dance before, a Bollywood fitness class that we both enjoy. Now, Shruti is taking things to the next level with Doonya's fitness challenge to get into shape!

In the coming weeks, we will give updates on our fitness and "shopping ban". Follow our journey on bloglovin', twitter, or instagram!
