Scenes From Norway

It seems like we're well into the fall season but we can't help but reminisce about the summer that passed. Was it only just 3 months ago that we visited the lovely country of Norway? We never did put up a travel post about it then but here's a look back at some of the highlights of our trip. We started our trip off at the coastal city of Bergen. After spending a couple days there, we embarked on an unforgettable cruise that took us north along the coast of Norway.

WARNING: This post is picture-heavy! But I promise, the captions are short and sweet! :)
We started off our trip at the coastal town of Bergen, where colorful homes line the streets

Our majestic cruise ship, The King Herald (Kong Harald in Norweigan!)

No trip to Norway is complete without a view of the famous fjords
The cruiseship would dock at some sparsely populated towns with stark, barren landscapes (glacier in the backdrop)...

Which would quickly turn into lush surroundings with greenery and waterfalls!
We also docked at Lofoten, an archipelago that lies within the Arctic Circle
Norway is also known as the "Land of the Midnight Sun". Indeed, it was 1AM when this picture was taken!

Inside a cathedral in the city of Tromso that lies within the Arctic Circle
A yoga pose at the edge of the Earth...well, more like the North Cape, which is the northernmost point of mainland Europe. The North Pole is literally just a few hundred miles away! Brr!
Being so close to the North Pole, we actually go to see reindeer
Handmade dolls made by the indigenous Sami folk at the North Cape
The last stop of our journey was at Stavanger where I couldn't help posing in front of this hair salon!

  2. Thanks Aditi! Haha - yeah I was about six months pregnant then but wasn't showing that much yet...so wearing coats and jackets hid the bump all the more! I'm actually due any day now! :)
