How to Transition Work to Evening Wear

By April 10, 2016 , , , , , ,

I'm a sucker for historical colonial style buildings. So it comes as no surprise that I chose the National Gallery with its elegant sweeping staircases and commanding pillars for this recent blog shoot! The National Gallery is the latest addition to Singapore's burgeoning art and culture scene. Previously serving as the location for the Supreme Court, the National Gallery was painstakingly restored and recently opened to the public with the largest display of Southeast Asian art in the world. Besides art, the building boasts of several dining spots and rooftop cocktail bars with some of the best views in town (check out Smoke & Mirrors and Aura for a gorgeous view of downtown Singapore and the harbor beyond).

How many times have you gone to work with the plan to head out for drinks or dinner after that with friends? Sometimes you need a piece that allows you to transition seamlessly from the workplace setting to something a bit less formal but still dressy. This Club Monaco jumpsuit is perfect for just that! More and more, I'm drawn to classic pieces that are versatile. I paired the jumpsuit with a white blazer, pointy flats, and a big roomy bag to create the office-friendly look. When the time came to head out post-work to a nice dinner spot, I simply shed the blazer, put on some heels, and added a pop of red with my YSL purse. Easy, breezy! :)

All serious business here for work
